T-Shirts and Patches

Click to see some available designs.
My t-shirts and iron-on patches are printed with a method called block printing. I actually carve a block of basswood by hand, roll screen-printing ink over it, carefully align my block on the fabric, then put all of my weight on the block to make a good print. You might be thinking, 'hmm, aren't there faster ways to print on fabric?' -you're right, there are, and this is why I make such small batches. After the ink dries, I then heat-set it so that the print will last a good many washings.
HATS!!! Get your hats!
Well, mostly stylish felted fedoras....the only ones like this you will find in the area! (that I've seen anyway....)
I first crochet (with 100% wool) a giant bowl of a hat, then throw it in the wash (poor washing machine ), then remove, rinse, ring, and shape. After the hat has dried, I then sew on specially chosen ribbons...and if I have one, I will add a feather! Each hat takes an enormous amount of time, so it's a good thing I'm not doing this to earn a living!!!
Well, ok, I do sell them here in Asheville at a shop called 'Asheville NC Home Crafts', but that's really the only place you can get them. Because it's really just a hobby; sometimes.....the hands just HAVE to crochet, you know?
